2026 Trek to Move Mental Mountains: Annapurna Base Camp Impact Report

2026 Trek to Move Mental Mountains: Our Impact

In May 2026, 21 individuals embarked on a 14-day expedition to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal, trekking to an altitude of 4,130 metres with one shared purpose: to create meaningful change for mental health and suicide prevention across Western Australia.

What began as a physical challenge became something far greater. Every step taken, conversation shared and dollar raised contributed to a movement built around connection, resilience, hope and support for people facing their own mental mountains.

Together, our trekkers, sponsors, donors and supporters achieved an incredible impact:

  • More than $170,000 raised
  • 468 donors contributed to the campaign
  • 142% of the fundraising target achieved
  • 1.28 million social media impressions
  • More than 370,000 accounts reached
  • More than 30,000 students supported annually through school programs

The funds raised will support Happiness Co Foundation and Barbarians Group community programs, including free preventative mental health and wellbeing workshops across Perth, Peel and the South West; expansion of the Road to Happiness into regional and remote communities; Mental Health First Aid training; and the development of a children’s book focused on resilience and wellbeing.

Every step became action. Every challenge created change. Every summit became a symbol of hope.

The campaign will also contribute $5,000 to Nepal flood relief, giving back to the communities that welcomed and supported our trekkers throughout their journey.

While fundraising was a significant achievement, the impact extended far beyond the dollars raised. The campaign encouraged important conversations about mental health, strengthened relationships across workplaces and communities, and reminded people that no one should have to face life’s challenges alone.

We are incredibly grateful to every trekker, donor, sponsor, partner and supporter who helped make this possible.
